Additional Crosley CR49 Traveler Portable Turntable, Tan Information

The optimum use of a disc record of constant rotational speed occurs when the innermost recorded diameter is half of the outermost recorded diameter. But why worry yourself with the details. The Crosley Portable Suitcase Style Turntable plays all three speeds, 33 1/3, 45 and 75 RPM records. By the late fifties, stereo records reached a peak in the marketplace as hi-fi sound reproduction attained its largest audience to date. The portable turntable was introduced in the late 1950's and provided music lovers with a sense of independence, allowing them to easily cart their record player from one locale to another. The popularity of this unit was due in no small part to its portability, but also to its suitcase-styled finishing touches that became a Crosley hallmark. So whether you choose Ella Fitzgerald or Elvis, celebrate your vinyl in portable style.

What Customers Say About Crosley CR49 Traveler Portable Turntable, Tan:

i got this item expecting an AWESOME record playing experience. it has no weight control, so it just went right ahead and killed Jethro Tull's aqualung. this turntable is a joke. (you might be thinking: well obviously you just had the volume way to high.). of hot glue, plastic, and wood (no joke. They used hot glue.). what i got was a mess. ALSO my first record got gouged to death by the needle.

i opened the turntable up to see what was wrong (it was way to easy to do). i am not being over critical, and this is obvious since i have never had a turntable. (i literally watched shaves of my record peal off). the speakers on this thing blew out within my first record, and started rattling like CRAZY. but i was listening to the table at half volume (honest.). and i found the thing was constructed of [.]. the speakers are NOT full range, and you will not "enjoy" LPs in your garage OR ANYWHERE.i am sorry to be so vicious, but don't take the risk of buying this player.ON THE BRIGHT SIDE.well.it played my records i suppose.but it sounded awful.

Considering the price ($79.99)I am totaly happy with the overall sound and workmanship. I read some rather unimpressive reviews before deciding to purchase the Crosley CR49 Traveler Turntable. The negative reviews appeared to be coming from folks who seemed to have unrealistic expectiations for such a small unit like the CR49 and in such a low price range. This is not for people looking for great sound.in fact it sounds very much like the old record player I had up in my bedroom back in the mid 60's.but that in it self is part of the charm of this unit for me. I play old 45's on this player and that's about it, so if your looking for a little trip back in time this unit fits the bill.

Very cheaply made. I have had it a month and it is already broken. Needle skips from first song to almost end of album. Will try a new needle but gee whiz, this one is only one month old.

After reading the pros and cons, I waited until I was sure to order this record player. I got out my old 45s and made a nice display. Finally I made the move and I'm glad I did. It's just what I had in mind.nostalgia. I enjoy hearing the old tunes again with the distinct sound of vinyl. The only problem is that the rpm is faster, but this is minor.

its really nice. The turntable is plastic and very flimsy but it still very nice and works good.
